CBS47 and FOX30 Action News Jax premiered the new Action News Jax studio on Wednesday. Here are five interesting features of the new set. Click here to view a gallery of the new studio.
1. Going Green: The new Action News Jax set uses only LED lighting. LEDs use less electric and saves energy.
2. Variety: There are six separate presentation areas in the new Action News Jax studio. Reporters, anchors and meteorologists will be able to use these areas to bring you updates in new and interesting ways.
3. Big Visuals: There are 48 different monitors in the new set, including two 80-inch touch screens. The largest monitor on the new set is 90 inches.
4. Custom Desk: The anchor desk is custom built. It has an LED display, which saves energy.
5. Giving Back: Many parts of the old Action News Jax set were donated to Edward Waters College, Jacksonville's historically black college and university.
