JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three days after a person was found dead inside a Salvation Army shelter in downtown Jacksonville, a 64-year-old man has been charged with murder.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the victim was found dead inside his room at the shelter located on West Adams Street Monday around 6:00 a.m.
Investigators say they soon determined that the victim had been murdered and a person of interest was identified.
Dextor Anthony Hill has been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
Hill is being held on a $1 million bond.
