Hurricane Matthew caused significant damage to Huguenot Park in Jacksonville.
An aerial photo of the iconic beach and park shows the access road in shambles.
The City of Jacksonville closed the park until repairs are complete.
Officials have not given a timeline for when it will reopen.
They are asking for the public's patience as they make repairs.
A petition to save the park was started on Thursday and already has more than 2,700 signatures.
