JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — RELATED: Investigation uncovers safety issues at Allegiant Airlines
Allegiant Airlines announced on Tuesday that Jacksonville International Airport will have two new routes just in time for the summer.
The new seasonal service to JIA will include a trip from Louisville, Kentucky at the Louisville International Airport (SDF) beginning June 8, 2018 and a trip frm Norfolk, Virginia via Norfolk International Airport (ORF, beginning June 14, 2018.
Both routes will have fares as low as $49. The new flights will bring over 6,000 additional visitors to the area
The routes will operate twice weekly and expand on the service Allegiant currently operates to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), bringing the total number of Allegiant routes to JAX to eight.
“Today’s announcement will connect two large military communities, while also providing service to the home of the Kentucky Derby,"said Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Steve Grossman.
The airline said seats are limited and that fare is one-way and not available on all flights.
Flights must be purchased by April 4, 2018 for travel by Aug. 13, 2018. For more information, visit www.allegiantair.com
