JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Airports and airlines across the country are cutting flights as less people travel due to coronavirus outbreaks. While stimulus packages are on the way, a lot of uncertainty surrounds the future of flying.
In total, $900 million in federal stimulus money will be given to Florida airports as coronavirus hits the travel industry hard. Jacksonville International Airport is expected to get $28,169,797. A representative with the airport said this money represents about four months of revenue.

Other, smaller airports in Northeast Florida are expected to receive stimulus money as well:
- Northeast Florida Regional is expected to get $157,000
- Cecil Field is expected to get $69,000
- Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport is expected to get $69,000
- Herlong Airport is expected to get $69,000
- Hillard Airpark is expected to get $30,000
- Keystone Airpark is expected to get $30,000
- Palatka Municipal is expected to get $30,000
- Fernandina Municipal Airport is expected to get $30,000
In Florida, general aviation airports contribute more than $18.4 billion to the state’s economy annually and general aviation supports more than 108,000 jobs, according to Alliance for Aviation Across America.
