America’s dueling jackpots rise to a combined $914M

A total of $914 million is up for grabs.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two jackpots are causing excitement as the combined possible winning total for both Mega Millions and Powerball have rolled to an estimate $914 million.

On Monday, Oct. 10, the Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated $420 million, and on Tuesday, Oct. 11, the Mega Millions jackpot rolled to an estimated $494 million.

For those lucky enough to claim a jackpot winning ticket, winners have the option to receive their winnings in 30 annual installments or as a one-time, lump-sum cash option of approximately $215.2 million for Powerball and $248.7 million for Mega Millions. Players can also win lower-tier prizes of up to $2 million with Powerball and up to $5 million with Mega Millions.

According to the Florida Lottery, “this series of Powerball jackpot rollovers has generated more than $23.4 million for education in Florida, while the series of Mega Millions jackpot rollovers has generated more than $22.1 million for education.”
