Action News Jax has confirmed with AT&T Global Media Relations that the company is consolidating its call center operations in Syracuse, New York, to an already existing center in Orange Park.
"There’s a job offer for virtually every affected employee and a relocation allowance. The handful of employees who are not being offered jobs there have a job offer guarantee that ensures they’ll be offered another job with the company," said Jim Kimberly, a spokesperson for AT&T.
AT&T said that 150 employees will be offered to relocate, so up to 150 jobs may be offered in the Orange Park community soon; the company also said it will be doing some hiring in Orange Park in addition to the employees who choose to relocate from New York.
