MACCLENNY, Fla. — Baker County deputies are searching for the suspect they believe shot and killed two friends in their own home in Macclenny off Sawtooth Road.

A friend of the victims called deputies after they went to check on them.
Baker County Sheriff Scott Rhoden said caution tape and crime scene crews are an uncommon sight in the county.
“This is very uncommon for Baker County. This is nothing that happens… I can’t remember our (last) actual murder to be honest with you,” Rhoden said.
He said the owner of the home and his roommate were both found dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators are calling it a homicide but said the surrounding community is safe.
“There’s no concern... that we feel for the area right now. We feel that this crime happened possibly a few days ago,” Rhoden said.
Only a few houses are nearby on the family-owned land.
Right now, investigators are not ruling out a possible burglary as well.
Deputies are not releasing any information about the victims at this time to respect their families’ privacy.
