Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience to open at NoCo Center in Jacksonville

Cinematic storytelling through technological imagery will immerse visitors in a journey exploring the mysterious golden boy-king’s life.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One exhibit is leaving and another is on the way. With the success of Beyond Van Gogh at NoCo, visitors will now be transported to ancient Egypt on Jun. 9.

Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience is a new exhibition heading to Jacksonville. Created in partnership with the National Geographic Society and produced by Panquin Entertainment Group, visitors will leave the modern world behind and experience an ancient time like never before.

A recent media release said, “By harnessing projection mapping and new technologies to create stunning visual environments, the magic and mystery of Ancient Egypt will be brought to life in Jacksonville in an exhibition that opens at the NoCo Center for a limited run beginning Jun. 8, 2023.”

Commemorating the historic discovery of King Tut’s tomb 100 years ago, the experience brings the National Geographic archives to life through a beautifully constructed and thoroughly informative exhibition. Cinematic storytelling through technological imagery will immerse visitors in a journey exploring the mysterious golden boy-king’s life.

According to the press release, the multi-gallery, multi-sensory exhibition is a magnificent, time-traveling adventure that makes guests feel as if they are actually in Ancient Egypt. With nine galleries to explore, Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience takes visitors on an epic journey through King Tut’s life -- his rule as a child pharaoh, his family, the discovery of his tomb and the mysteries surrounding his early death, and his journey to the afterlife.

“When new technology meets the ancient world, visitors have an experience unlike anything before,” Tony Luckett - VP, Business Development National Geographic Society said. “Beyond King Tut is a ground-breaking immersive experience that presents historical facts and a fascinating story. Guests will experience the splendor of Ancient Egypt, with a multi-sensory journey.”

Tickets go on sale on Apr. 27. Those interested can visit www.beyondkingtut.com. Prices start at $33.99 for adults and $24.99 for children ages 5-15.
