Three shot, one dead in shooting on the Westside, JSO reports

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has officially confirmed their response to a reported shooting on the Westside

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed one dead, and two injured in a reported shooting at San Juan Avenue and Jammes Road.

According to JSO, at around 4:00 p.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was reportedly alerted as an off-duty officer in the area heard gunshots.

Officers responded to the scene at 6300 San Juan Avenue, where they discovered three adult males who had been victims of a shooting.

The victims were promptly transported to the hospital, with one individual tragically losing their life. The other two victims are currently undergoing surgery, and their conditions remain uncertain.

The crime scene showed numerous gunshots fired, spanning the business parking lot. Witnesses reported a lone shooter dressed entirely in black, potentially involved in a foot chase. Authorities are actively investigating this aspect, with the suspect believed to have fled on foot.

An interviewed business owner shared the account of approximately 30 gunshots, resulting in at least one bullet penetrating his business and hitting a refrigerator. The plaza building and parked cars have also sustained multiple bullet holes.

One victim reportedly managed to reach the smoke shop parking lot. The age range of all three victims is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old.

the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has deployed the Gang Unit to the scene, providing support in the ongoing investigation.
