CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — Camden County is a step closer to becoming a spaceport.
Action News Jax confined Friday that Camden County cleared another hurdle in its application to be a launch site. The FAA will issue its final environmental impact statement next March.
That’s important because the application can’t move forward without evaluating the environmental impacts.
Camden County is working to become a launch side for “small lift" vehicles that’s don’t use reusable flyback boosters.
There is a local group in Camden who are against the spaceport. They believe it is a bad investment for taxpayers and bad for the environment.
