Police, GBI make arrest in Kingsland murder investigation

KINGSLAND, Ga. — Updated Story 11/30/2020: The United States Marshal Service has arrested 17-year-old Ashanti Hollerman of Woodbine, GA, and 43-year-old Daniel Miller of Kingsland, GA in the murder of Ernest Ruffell. They are both charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Original Story 11/3/2020: The Kingsland Police Department is sending its thoughts and prayers to the family of a man killed at his home Tuesday.

Officers responded to a home located at 117 Forest Ridge Drive at 12:20 a.m. in regard to gunfire and found the shooting victim inside.

He was taken to Southeast Medical Center in Saint Mary’s where he died.

Police identified him as Ernest Zachary Ruffell, 34, of Kingsland.

At this time, no arrests have been made.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is helping with the investigation.

“We will do our best to provide information as it is available to be released and we appreciate the community’s patience while this investigation proceeds,” Kingsland police said in a statement.
