A Jacksonville woman is asking the public for help searching for her son’s 2014 red Corolla after it was stolen from a westside gym.
Brandon Stevens said he finished a workout at Cecil Field Gymnasium Saturday morning when he found the locker room tampered with. He said his gym bag was taken out of his locker, and his car was stolen from the front parking lot.
“I came outside and I realized my car wasn’t in the parking lot anymore,” Stevens said. “So I was a little bit blown away whenever I walked outside.”

Stevens filed a police report with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. He said several items were inside the vehicle, including Christmas gifts and his sister’s soccer equipment, along with his wallet and identification card. Action News Jax has requested this case report and is waiting to hear back.
“Not a responsible to thing to not put a lock on but we don’t blame anybody other than the thieves,” Brandon Stevens’ mother Dayna Stevens said. She is asking anyone that recognizes the car to call the police.

Dayna Stevens said the facility has at least one surveillance camera inside its front entrance. She is working with the facility to see if it caught a picture of the thief.

“It’s just not OK,” she said. “I work very hard, and all three of my children work very hard and go to school. My oldest is in the military. We just live normal lives and you don’t expect that kind of thing to happen to you.”
Action News Jax found another robbery reported in this area the day before this incident, according to the to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Crime Map. Police have not commented on if the two incidents are related.
