Police arrested a teenager who they say is responsible for shooting and killing a K9.
Officers said K9 Fang was chasing Jhamel Paskel, 17, early Sunday morning after Paskel carjacked two women at gunpoint and kidnapped them.

“He got in and pointed a gun at me and said drive. He says this isn’t no joke,” said Amanda Gears, a victim.
Officers said Paskel had the two women drive until they got near Lem Turner Road.
Once they got out, police said Paskel took off. JSO was able to track down Paskel at I-10 and Commerce Center Parkway using OnStar, but Paskel took off running.
K9 Fang took off after Paskel, and as he got close, police said the 17-year-old fired shots, killing the 3-year-old German Shepherd.

One of the carjacking victims tells me she is so thankful for K9 Fang, who helped catch the teen who pointed a gun at her.
“If the dog wouldn’t have been there at the time, they wouldn’t have caught him. He could be out there still getting away with doing the same thing as he did with me to other people,” Gears said.
Police said Paskel has been in trouble with the law before.
