JinkoSolar plans to assemble and distribute solar panel products in Jacksonville. They also intend to use JAXPORT to import and export solar panel components sourced from China, among other things, which could have a positive impact on the port as well as in logistics industries like trucking.

Economic development documents say JinkoSolar will start installing new equipment and renovating at the end of June, with completion at the end of 2019. 100 jobs would be created each of the next two years.
The solar company is expected to be operational by late-Fall at the Cecil Commerce Center on New World Avenue, council members say.
