ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The City of St. Augustine is offering open house workshops and individual consultation to residents seeking FEMA 2022 Flood Mitigation Assistance. Working in tandem with Quality Engineering and Surveying (QES), noted as the City’s consultant, a workshop will be conducted for residents who have completed their applications on Monday, October, 10, at 3 p.m. at the Galimore Community Center, located at 399 Riberia Street in Lincolnville.

Later that evening, at 6 p.m., an additional workshop will be held for homeowners who were flooded by Hurricane Ian - or any other previous storms - who have not completed a 2022 Flood Mitigation Assistance application. The workshop will also be held at the Galimore Community Center, located at 399 Riberia Street in Lincolnville. Consultants will be on hand for a presentation and questions.

Homeowners not participating in the City of St. Augustine’s flood mitigation programs are encouraged to send an email complete with their name, address, and phone number to fma@citystaug.com . City staff will respond to discuss other available programs.

Quality Engineering and Surveying consultants will be available on Tuesday, October 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for pre-scheduled, on-site visits with residents. To speak directly with a QES team member in advance about storm damage, email adaray@qesla.com .

In a recent press release, the City of St. Augustine stated that federal funds are allocated yearly. Applications can be submitted for review for these funds.

“In the fiscal year 2021, the FEMA Program had $70M allocated towards community flood mitigation; however, funding in 2022 is anticipated to exceed that when the Notice of Funding is announced for the program,” they said.

Contact Andy Daray, Project Coordinator for Quality Engineering and Surveying, LLC, at 225-698-1600 or email adaray@qesla.com for questions.
