Clay County man tracked down in Texas for having sex with a minor

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County man tracked down in Texas for outstanding warrant for having sex with a minor.

A Clay County man wanted for having sex with a child under 16-years-old is in jail after the Clay County Sheriff's Office says he was tracked down in Texas and extradited back to Florida.

Deputies first started searching for Dylan Fillmer two weeks ago. He's charged with four counts of lewd and lascivious battery of a victim under 16.

The arrest report said Fillmer, 20, befriended the victim on Facebook in Jan. and within a few days he asked to meet her.

The report said the victim agreed and snuck out of her house. Fillmer then allegedly brought her to a parking lot in a gated community where they had sex four times.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office told Action News it deals with cases involving social media on a weekly basis with all different kinds of crimes but couldn't discuss the details of Fillmer's case specifically.

"Predators do like to go on social media outlets, Facebook, different apps," Detective James Rood with the Clay County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit said. "When it comes to companies like Facebook we work really well with them. We could put a freeze on the accounts. We can subpoena those accounts. We can pretty much find out whose conversing with these kids."

Fillmer was also arrested on charges of burglary in 2013 and petty theft in January.
