Clay County man loses leg in motorcycle crash days before wedding

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. —

Jalese Callaway and Chris Davie aren’t letting anything stop them from tying the knot- even an almost-fatal crash.

Callaway tells Action News Jax that Chris was on his way way home from a bachelor party Sunday when he was t-boned by an SUV, throwing him 50 feet.

Callaway says Chris is in the hospital with serious injuries, but that the wedding is still on.

They will be holding the ceremony at the hospital instead.

The couple’s friends at Steel Mill Fleming Island CrossFit are putting on a benefit and silent auction to raise funds for Chris.

The event will be December 19th starting at 8:30 a.m.; they say the public is invited.
