ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Update 9:55 p.m.: Clay Electric is still working to restore power near the Orange Park Mall. Efforts have been slowed by widespread outages across the county that were caused by Thursday night’s severe weather.
The Clay County Fire and Rescue Department said a power pole that was knocked down on Wells Road Friday evening caused a power outage at the Orange Park Mall Friday night.
The power line fell across the road and is causing major traffic delays in the area.
The Facebook post shows the location of the wreck as Wells Road and Orange Park Northway, a road that surrounds the mall.
The Clay Electric Power Outage Map showed power outages from west of the mall on Blanding Boulevard all the way to Corporate Way, which is east of the mall and close to I-295.
Action News Jax has a reporter headed to the scene. We’re working to find out what caused the power line to be knocked down and if anyone was hurt.
