CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Family, classmates and loved ones gathered Monday night for a candlelight vigil to honor the lives of Parker Rowley, 17, and Luke Kennedy, 16. Rowley and Kennedy died of their injuries after a car crash Friday night.
After lighting candles, attendees shared thoughts, prayers, and memories of the boys while speaking at Monday night’s vigil held at Pinewood Presbyterian Church in Middleburg.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported the boys pulled out in front of a pickup truck and crashed head-on. Troopers tell Action News Jax the crash happened Friday night on State Road 16 and Francis Road.
Rowley died at the scene, and Kennedy died at an area hospital on Sunday. Rowley was a student at St. Johns Classical Academy. Kennedy attended the school up until this year.
