FDLE says Daniels lied to investigators

Clay County, FL. — Following a year-long investigation, a 50-page investigation summary details what led to the arrest of Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels.

Daniels, who is facing four charges is accused of ordering one of his deputies to illegally arrest his mistress Cierra Smith following stalking allegations.

We learned for the first time, that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement says Daniels contacted a woman named Armesha Johnson in Texas.

FDLE alleges Daniels used a law enforcement database to get her contact information which is against the law.

Smith was the ex-wife of Johnson’s boyfriend and sent her sexually charged text messages.

The report also says at one point Daniels paid 4,300 dollars for what investigators believe was a breast augmentation for smith

The report goes on to say that Daniels and Smith text each other more than 27,000 times that includes some sexually explicit videos and pictures.

On June 4, 2019, Sheriff Daniels requested to exchange his work cell phone for a new phone because it was running slow.

According to witness statements his phone was not damaged or needed to be replaced.

Further on in the report, it says Daniels said he was requesting a replacement phone because quote “there’s stuff on this phone that doesn’t need to see light”

On the very last page of the report, it says Sheriff Daniels never told a sergeant he wanted Cierra Smith arrested.

In fact, it says Sheriff Daniels provided false information with the intent to mislead law enforcement officers of the facts pertaining to the investigation which is a felony under Florida law.
