CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 1/23/2022:
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal hit and run crash that happened on Saturday night was at 197 N. Mimosa Ave.
A 45 year-old man was riding on a bicycle on the right edge of the roadway when he was struck by a white PT Cruiser. The driver of the vehicle left the scene.
Anyone with information on the white PT Cruiser with right front damage is urged to call FHP at *347 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
The second fatal crash happened while a white 2013 Ford F-250 was traveling west on Old Jennings Road near Long Bay Road. The driver, a 65-year-old man, struck a 39-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Florida Highway Patrol responded to two separate vehicle vs. bicyclist crashes that ended in a fatality on Saturday evening in Middleburg.
The first crash happened Saturday evening on Johns Cemetery Road and Mimosa Avenue. A vehicle struck a 45-year-old man from Middleburg City, and he was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver fled the scene in what may have been a truck.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of the driver, call FHP at *347.
The second crash happened on the same night on Old Jennings Road and Long Bay Road. A 39-year-old man from Orange Park was hit by a pickup truck and was pronounced deceased.
