ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Investigators are still working to find out what led to five boys getting stabbed on a front lawn Saturday night.
Several Clay County Sheriff’s deputies knocked door-to-door up and down Debbie Lane on Monday. We spoke with a neighbor who they approached, who told us they asked for his security camera footage.
Neighbors in the Orange Park neighborhood are still shaken up.
“For it to happen so close to home, I’m like, are my kids safe? And I don’t like that. I like to know my kids are safe,” neighbor Courtney Survis said.
Action News Jax first reported Sunday that a 13-year-old boy died from his injuries the morning after the incident.
“As a mother, my heart goes out to the family that lost their child,” Survis said.
Two boys remained in the hospital on Sunday. The sheriff’s office has not released any more information on their conditions.
Action News Jax spoke with several parents who raised concerns about reported “fight” social media accounts or pages.
We reached out to the Clay County school district and asked if they were aware of anything like it.
District officials gave us this statement:
“We constantly work to monitor any information that could cause a situation to arise in our schools. The Clay County District Schools Police Department works closely with our local partnering agencies to handle these situations as the particular investigation requires.”

We also reached out to the sheriff’s office about the allegations.
Officials said, “Our investigators are investigating every lead that may develop. Because this is still an active investigation, we will not disclose any investigative information.”
The circumstances surrounding the fight are still unknown at this time.
“Kids that age should be playing video games and talking on the phone. not pulling out knives and stabbing each other,” MAD DADS outreach coordinator AJ Jordan said.
We knocked on the door where the incident happened, but no one answered.
“Reach out to the authorities and we can avoid situations like this,” Jordan said.
We requested the police report from the sheriff’s office, as well as body camera footage and 911 calls from the incident.
The police report we received was heavily redacted.
We have not received any footage or 911 calls as of Monday.
