Lake City Fire Chief Randy Burnham dies from COVID-19, officials say

LAKE CITY, Fla. — Lake City Fire Chief Randy Burnham has died from COVID-19, the department posted to their Facebook Sunday.

Their post said: “It is with my deepest sympathy and probably the hardest thing that I have ever posted. Today Chief Randy Burnham lost his fight with COVID. We are saddened but thankful for all of your prayers. Please continue to lift the family and our department in your prayers. #LCFD

The department shared on Aug. 15 that they had two of their own battling COVID-19. They continued to post regular updates of their conditions but never mentioned names.
