Some students depend on a hot meal they receive at school. Since schools are currently closed in the Jacksonville area because of coronavirus concerns, school districts in Duval and Clay counties are providing free meals for students to help.

DUVAL COUNTY STUDENTS
In Duval County, students will be able to pick up school lunches starting Tuesday, March 17 at any district-managed school.
Students must be present to pick up a lunch between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the curbside of the school. The school district said students can pick it up at any Duval County Public School. It does not have to be the school they attend.
CLAY COUNTY STUDENTS
During the week of March 16, the Clay County School District is providing breakfast and lunch for students.
Students can get breakfast between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and lunch between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
The district said the meals are prepackaged and can be picked up at the parent pick-up or bus loop at the following school locations:
- Keystone Heights Jr./Sr. High
- Charles E. Bennett Elementary
- W.E. Cherry Elementary
- Ridgeview Elementary
- Wilkinson Elementary
Students must be present to get a meal.

Clay County schools will not provide meals during Spring Break which is March 23-30, because of federal restrictions. If this should change, families will be notified, according to the school district.
BRADFORD COUNTY STUDENTS
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for any child age 18 or younger Wednesday, March 18, 2020 thru Friday, March 20, 2020.
- Meals will be offered for pick up at curbside in the bus loop each day between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Bradford High School.
- Children and students must be present in the vehicle to receive their meal.
- Both breakfast and lunch bags will be distributed to the car in the pick up line for each child/student in the vehicle.
NASSAU COUNTY STUDENTS
- Schools are not providing food this week, but they are working with area churches to supply food to children.
- Next week – Locations will be set up for breakfast and lunches in Hilliard, Fernandina, Yulee and Callahan.
Action News Jax has contacted other school districts regarding any plans to provide free meals. We are waiting to hear back.
