The son of a former officer who police said killed his estranged wife and her boyfriend before turning the gun on himself is facing charges of his own.

Action News Jax has confirmed Bryce Sasser, the son of the late Cory Sasser, has been charged with reckless conduct and fired from the Brunswick Police Department.

Bryce Sasser sat down with Action News Jax in July for an exclusive interview.

“I’m going to be the best police officer I know to be,” Bryce Sasser said.

In May, police responded when Cory Sasser's estranged wife said he tried to break into her home, but the former Glynn County officer was not arrested.

Cory Sasser saw Katie Kettles Sasser with her boyfriend, John Hall Jr.

“From the day that this started months ago, I witnessed first-hand my dad make every effort,” Bryce Sasser said.

New documents show that, the next month, Cory Sasser attended a divorce hearing which he didn't think went well.

Later, he ran into the couple at a restaurant, and police said he made a "hand gesture" to them.

The documents show that a day later, Cory Sasser asked a 911 dispatcher to help him find John Hall Jr.’s address in McIntosh County, but she refused.

Troubling searches including "husband kills man who wife cheats with" were found on his phone.

The next day was the day of the murders.

Police said Cory Sasser called a local funeral home and paid for his cremation and funeral, stating that he would be taking a job overseas

Later, police said he lied on the forms to buy a shotgun and ammunition from a gun shop in Valdosta.

That night, police said he shot and killed Katie Kettles Sasser, John Hall Jr. and himself.

Action News Jax tried to speak with Bryce Sasser on Thursday night, but his uncle said he’s not doing interviews right now.
