Deadly crash on Old St. Augustine Road near I-95

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash on Old St. Augustine Road near Interstate 95.

It happened just before 11 a.m. on Friday.

The crash involved only one car, which was being driven by a 29-year-old man. JSO said the driver made an abrupt lane change, hit a curb, then hit a tree.

A witness said he was driving fast. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

This is the 103rd traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
