ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla — In a report from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office state that that earlier Friday afternoon, the SJCSO deputies arrested a 15-year-old student.

It was learned that two written threats were found in student bathrooms on separate occasions within the past 24 hours. Both threats detailed specific acts of violence to be done to the student body on separate days.
After an in-depth investigation and other detailed information, probable cause was established to charge and arrest the student, who will remain unnamed due to his age, for two counts of Written Threats to Kill or Harm per FL State Statute 836.10.

In addition to the above charges, the St. Johns County School District is applying consequences in accordance with their Student Code of Conduct based on a Level 4 offense.
The student was transported to the St. Johns County Jail where he was booked and subsequently transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice where he will be held until the case has been reviewed by a judge.

Sheriff Hardwick stated, “The safety and security of our schools will continue to be a top priority for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Under no circumstances will this type of behavior be tolerated. These types of crimes will be investigated thoroughly and the individual will be held criminally responsible. In the coming school year, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is committed to adding two additional detectives assigned to our school district with or without additional funding to specifically investigate these crimes.”
