Florida-cold has returned. Morning temperatures are at least 20 degrees lower than Monday. Action News Jax Meteorologist Corey Simma says the winds kept it above freezing overnight, but wind chills are near and below freezing.
It’s going to be a brisk day overall, with temperatures stuck in the 50′s, well below our average high.
A freeze warning is in effect from midnight until 8 a.m. Wednesday, with sub-freezing temperatures in the upper 20′s for inland communities.
It’s been months since you’ve had to prepare sensitive plants, but you’ll want to cover them up ahead of tonight. Our last freeze in Jacksonville was in late January.
We will turn gradually warmer by the end of the week. Thursday morning starts off in the lower 40s around Jacksonville. The afternoon will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. Evening showers will approach our area Friday.
