Jacksonville, Fl — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis this morning announced he’s calling for a special session of the Legislature to ensure all local governments help the incoming Trump administration.

Speaking in Tallahassee this morning, DeSantis said, “We are going to need - in order to do that - legislation to impose additional duties, and provide funding for those local officials.”

DeSantis said that he expects President-elect Donald Trump to issue a number of executive orders regarding illegal immigration after being sworn into office next week. He said he wants Florida to be “prepared to act” on those potential measures.

The special session will also address condominium safety regulations, hurricane relief, and fraudulent signature-gathering petitions for constitutional amendments.
