Two shot in face in Jacksonville’s Brentwood area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men were hospitalized in critical condition Monday morning after being shot in the face. Jacksonville police said a neighbor in the apartment complex in the 4300 block of Main Street went to check on a resident after hearing gunshots just before 7 a.m.

The neighbor found two men, one in his 60s the other in his 40s, shot in the face, police said at a news conference Monday morning.

A man wearing a ski mask went in the apartment, shot the victims, took a set of keys and took off in one of their cars - a silver Buick Lacrosse - police said.

Names of the victims were not released. Police said they didn’t have a motive in the shooting and are unsure of the relationship between the victims and the shooter. Police said they believe the shooting is an isolated incident.

No arrests were made.
