Also on Wednesday, the Jaguars announced the firing of General Manager Trent Baalke and then made another attempt to hire Liam Coen as the team’s head coach.
Rick Stroud, the Tampa Bay Times’ Bucs beat reporter, laid out part of the timeline Thursday night, mentioning that one of the Coens’ children was sick:
“Liam Coen contacted head coach Todd Bowles around 5 p.m. Thursday. He said he had been with one of his kids, who had taken ill, at a doctors office. He mentioned the Jaguars situation only briefly, saying he wanted to look back into it.”
