JACKSONVILLE,Fla. — Action News Jax Paige Kelton spoke one-on-one with Duval County Public School Superintendent Dr. Diana Green, Wednesday morning.

In the interview, the two discussed how DCPS has changed over the last few months. One important topic that came up in the interview was how each school is staying clean.

“We are using aerostatic devices with spray we also have microbial spray that has lasting effective up to 90 days. All of our schools just went through the second iteration of that spray,” said Greene.

Greene also touched on how the pandemic has affected DCPS staff.

" I think every day all of us who work in tight spaces where were interacting with public or students its always in the back of our mind what we’re going through, and I’m proud of teachers for moving beyond that and doing our job to ensure our students have every opp to get high-quality education," Greene said.

The two also discussed how the DCPS COVID-19 dashboard will change starting Oct. 29.

“We are changing the way we are reporting cases; currently, we report when cases close. That’s when DOH does its contact tracing and has notified families. Now we are reporting when DOH accepts the case," Greene said.

When a positive case is confirmed at a Duval County school, the dashboard will automatically update at 10 p.m. every night.
