JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — While the next group of people eligible to receive the vaccine work to try and book appointments, Action News Jax spoke with a local woman who has already received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
Maggie Fitzroy says, “When they called me today it felt good.”
Fitzroy had enrolled in the Pfizer vaccine trial back in August, but Wednesday was the day she learned that what she got was the real thing, not a placebo.
”It feels like a superpower, so I can’t wait for anyone who wants one to get it because I really think it’s going to bring us back to normal life.
”Fitzroy tells Action News Jax it works. Especially after she says she was exposed to someone who needed up being Covid-19 positive and didn’t get sick.”
Physically I feel great and emotionally I feel great,” says Fitzroy.
She tells Action News Jax she understands why people are nervous. She was never one to get the flu vaccine herself.”
I was too afraid to get the flu vaccine but I just wanted to do something to help with this.”And she says she is grateful she did.
“It’s not the virus. It’s new technology and you’re not infected with anything and it works. That’s all I can say is that it works.”
