JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to two overnight shootings Sunday, Nov. 14.
The first shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. when a juvenile was shot at the intersection of Dunn Avenue and Duval Road.
JSO said the suspect pulled up next to the victim’s car at a red light, got out of the car, and fired approximately 20 rounds at the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene.
The juvenile was in the passenger seat at the time she was shot, JSO said. There was one other occupant in the car, which was the driver.
There is no description of the suspect, or the suspect’s vehicle at this time, according to JSO.
The juvenile is expected to be OK, police said.
The second shooting happened on Cherry Point Way, just thirty minutes after the first.
JSO said a conflict had been going on for a few days between two known individuals. Then, around 2 a.m. Sunday, the suspect fired approximately five founds into the victim’s home, striking the victim in the leg.
The sheriff’s office said the victim was an adult female, and she is expected to be OK.
According to JSO, the suspect was in a silver sedan. They said this is believed to be an isolated event and there is no threat to the community.
