JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A massive fire gutted the Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q on Skinner Lake Drive near Town Center as employees were closing up Monday night.
Crews with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the fire around 10 p.m.
Action News Jax spoke to Joe Adeeb, the restaurant owner, who said no customers were inside the restaurant at the time of the fire and employees were not hurt.
“One of our employees went out back to do closing procedures and said there was fire coming out back by where our smokers are,” Adeeb said. The store owner said they are determined to rebuild.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
