Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Duval County Public School’s annual school choice expo was held virtually on Saturday Jan. 9, 2021.
Families were still able to tour schools and speak with school leaders, but from the comfort and safety of their home.
DCPS said Feb. 28 is last day to submit a school choice application for 2021-22 school year. School choice specialists are available to help you apply. Visit http://duvalschools.org/schoolchoice for more information.

“Get a Parent Account and link it to your child – This is essential because school choice applications are only available if the parent/guardian has a parent account and it is linked to their student. Visit www.duvalschools.org/focus for a step-by-step guide to creating a parent account and linking it to the student.
Contact the Office of School Choice – There’s no better time to contact school choice than now, before the rush of school choice season begins in January. Questions can be sent to school_choice@duvalschools.org. Families can go online to schedule an appointment with a school choice specialist. To make an appointment, visit www.duvalschools.org/schoolchoice and click on “Make an Appointment.”
Register for the “School Choice – Everything You Need to Know” course. The Parent Academy is offering a virtual course this Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. The class will cover what families need to know about the school choice process for the 2021-22 school year. Register for the course here. It will also be available to view on the Parent Academy’s YouTube page after Monday, Dec. 14. More information about the virtual School Choice Expo will be on the district’s website on Dec. 18.
