JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — FBI raided a popular massage parlor in Jacksonville Beach.
Business records show Bo Tang is the owner of Tang Dynasty Foot Spa. Action News Jax found all the licenses are up to date and there’s no active complaints on file.
That’s why people in the community are shocked to learn it’s at the center of an investigation.
“I saw people through the little slit there and so I knocked to see what was going on. I saw the lights on inside and he opened the door and really startled me,” said Karen Cheek, a Tang Dynasty customer.
Instead of being met by the normal employees Wednesday afternoon, Cheek was met by a narcotics detective instead.
She says, “There’s just a bunch of cops in there in full garb covered head to toe.”
Action News Jax saw two people being taken away in handcuffs behind the business.
About 15 minutes later, we saw the owner, Bo Tang, had been booked at Duval County jail for employing unlicensed massage therapists.
FBI Jacksonville says they are investigating Tang Dynasty Foot Spa with other agencies, including Homeland Security.
Although they would not clarify what type of investigation.
Our law and safety expert, Dale Carson, says since it’s a massage parlor and the FBI is involved, that likely means one of two things: It’s either a human trafficking or money laundering investigation.
Cheek says she’s just taken back by the whole thing.
“I was just hoping I wasn’t caught in the middle of something that could have been tragic.”
