JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Felony charges have been dropped against a man who was arrested for killing his neighbor’s rooster.
Action News Jax told you last month when James Nix was charged with animal cruelty.

He told us he was defending his family.
“I try to hit it, but the chicken’s jumping up at me and I accidentally knocked it in the head. You know, call it a lucky shot, whatever,” Nix said.
Nix does still face one charge of animal neglect.
