Here’s what caused the Comcast outage in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Comcast customers experienced an outage that impacted services on Wednesday morning in Jacksonville.

DownDetector shows that Comcast Xfinity customers started reporting issues in the 10 a.m. hour.

St. Johns County School District said the outage impacted their systems, but they are now back online.

Action News Jax reached out to Comcast and found out that the issue was caused by a “substantial fiber cut and a network issue.”

Comcast said the issue was resolved in less than an hour. Here is the full statement issued by a Comcast representative.

“This morning we experienced a substantial fiber cut and a network issue that impacted services for our customers in Jacksonville. These issues were resolved in less than an hour and services for impacted customers have been restored.”
