JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
UPDATE · 11:31 a.m. | The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and FBI Jacksonville have identified and arrested the person behind a threat posted on social media.
In a statement Tuesday morning, the University of North Florida said that there is no threat to the school community.
Officials say the threat is not related to the recent threats made toward historically Black colleges and universities.

There will be an increased police presence on campus Tuesday at the University of North Florida out of an abundance of caution.
This comes after UNF’s police department was made aware of a threat posted on social media. The department said it is actively working with federal agencies to investigate.

Some activities have been postponed, but classes will be held and university offices will remain open.
