JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a woman lying on the ground bleeding at the intersection of North Main Street and 61st Street at 2 a.m., police said.

When officers arrived, they discovered a woman’s lifeless body in the median. It appeared she had been hit by a car, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officers also discovered car debris on the road in the general area of the victim. Traffic Homicide and a crime scene unit are investigating.
