JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville family is mourning another loss -- a baby girl. Milan Isla McGraw, the baby who survived the shooting that killed her mother in October of 2019, died Saturday, Jan. 11, the family’s lawyer told Action News Jax.
Milan’s mother, Iyana McGraw, was 19 years old and nine months pregnant when she was shot and killed at an apartment complex on Justina Road.
Her family told Action News Jax Iyana was days away from giving birth and meeting her baby girl when she died.
Action News Jax anchor Dawn Lopez spoke to the family’s lawyer who told her over the weekend that Milan was not getting any better. Doctors told the family that she was growing, but there was no brain activity.
There have been no arrests in the case at this time. Once a gunman is identified, he or she will be facing charges for double murder.
