JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a “vehicle of interest” in connection to the fatal shooting of a father of four.
Jared Bridegan, 33, was killed in the 3700 block of Sanctuary Way South in Jacksonville Beach on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

JBPD said on that same night, between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., a truck was captured on surveillance video in the Jacksonville Beach area.
That truck, believed to be a dark-colored (likely blue) 2004–2008 Ford F-150 with four doors with running boards (possibly silver), brown trim and a silver toolbox.
“Oh my gosh, I’m just so happy about the Jacksonville Police Department just finding a lead and then also putting it out to us so we can have a moment of... there is something that’s going to be moving forward from this,” said one neighbor.
Action News Jax asked our law and safety expert Dale Carson — who has years of experience in law enforcement and is now an attorney — about the significance of releasing information on the truck to the public.
“What it also means is that investigators in this particular case don’t have a great many leads. And they don’t have a great many leads because there are no direct witnesses who are at the scene. A 2-year-old child is not going to provide any real information,” Carson said.
Carson said information on the truck means the police could find its registration, a possible owner and even a possible witness or a person of interest — something neighbors desperately want.
Anyone who saw the truck the night of the shooting between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., or knows of its current whereabouts, is asked to contact JBPD immediately at 904-270-1667.
