JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It took firefighters 15 minutes to put out a house fire in Jacksonville’s Avondale neighborhood on Monday morning.
Crews with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told Action News Jax they are investigating it as a result of arson.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire and a state fire marshal is investigating. The fire appears to have started in the stairwell of the home, according to JFRD.
The house is a new home that was under construction. JFRD reported the home is not a total loss. Police have the area roped off.
