JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — How would you like to join the Jacksonville Jags off the field — and still be a part of the home game experience?

Well, you can do it by joining the Jags’ Guest Services team. The team is looking to fill more than 1,500 different job openings!

Chante Nixon wants to get hired as a bartender and bring her six years of experience in that field to TIAA Bank Field.

“I’m the perfect fit because I’m a seasoned bartender, I’ve been doing this for years,” she said.

The Jags are holding job fairs to hire staff for 2021 home games and other stadium events.

Five different companies are looking to hire more than 1,500 people to join the Jags Guest Services Team, and that is because on game day, they are going to need 4,000 staff members to greet the fans that will fill these stands.

When Nixon heard, she showed up with a game plan.

“That I stand out the most, I have resumes ready, I’m dressed professionally,” she pointed out.

She says this job would help her long-term goals.

“I wanna do bartending, but I want to take it to the next level and I’m also trying to close on a house so I would like to raise money to you know, have money to close on my house,” Nixon explained.

These are the jobs available:

  • Ushers
  • Ticket takers
  • Bartenders
  • Servers
  • Cashiers
  • Security
  • Merchandise staff
  • Housekeeping
  • Parking attendants

But the Jags are looking for one common trait.

“Just someone that really cares about our fans,” Lindsey Zybrick, the Senior Fan Experience Coordinator with the Jacksonville Jaguars said. “It is such an exciting experience. It’s great to be here on game day, but it’s also great to be a part of it.”

Nixon told Action News Jax reporter Jessica Barreto that she is optimistic she’ll be part of it. Her interview went well, and she’s is waiting on an official offer.

“It would mean a lot,” she said. “More opportunities for Jacksonville, more opportunities for me.”

About 250 candidates attended the job fair on Sunday. That means there are still plenty of opportunities available.

Monday’s job fair will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. inside the Fields Auto Group Terrace Suite.

“Come out, get some ground — even if it’s just part-time,” Nixon suggested. “You gotta start somewhere.”

The Jags recommend you dress professionally, bring a pen, and be prepared for those on-site interviews.
