JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned that Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry has COVID-19.

Curry’s office said he was experiencing mild cold like symptoms and took an at home COVID-19 test that came back positive.

The mayor is fully vaccinated and tweeted about getting the vaccine on July 26.

Curry’s office said he is following the latest Centers for Disease Control guidelines and will continue to isolate at home this week.

“Mayor Curry would like to express his thanks to our healthcare and frontline workers who continue to battle this pandemic,” his office said in a statement.
