There was a wide range of topics, and each candidate got the same amount of time to speak. There were issues and concerns brought up that many beach community neighbors care about.

The room was packed with residents, and one of the top of concerns brought up was communication, or lack thereof, between the City of Jacksonville and its beaches. People wanted to know how as mayor, they’d handle and fix the issue.

Another top issue candidates discussed was the interlocal agreement, which details county services Jacksonville is required to provide to the beaches. Mayport Village, taxation, as well as visitation and how crime can spill into the beaches area were also discussed. The issues regarding Penman Road were talked about as well.

UNF is set to release an updated mayoral poll soon, and Action News Jax will keep you posted on where each candidate stands in the race.
