JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Duval Charter School teacher was arrested and is accused of stealing another staff member’s Adderall prescription Wednesday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The teacher faces a theft of a controlled substance charge and was booked in the Duval County Jail Feb. 21, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
An off-duty officer was notified that a teacher’s prescription medication was stolen. The victim believed Megan Jones, 28, had taken it. The victim told police she believes it was her because she had asked for some of the medication in the past.
According to the police report, when the victim opened her medicine bottle Wednesday morning there was medicine in it. Later in the afternoon, she went to take her second pill and the bottle was empty.
The victim told the officer that the medicine was kept in her purse in her room and the only person who entered the classroom while she wasn’t there was Jones.
