ORIGINAL STORY 1/22/2021 3:45 p.m.:
The Jacksonville University is asking students and staff who are currently on campus to evacuate immediately due to a threat made to the school.
Students and staff are being asked to find a safe place off campus until further notice.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently on scene investigating the incident.
JU posted the following statement on their website:
“Due to a threat made this afternoon (January 22), anyone currently on campus is asked to evacuate IMMEDIATELY. Authorities have been notified, and the incident is under investigation. Find a safe place to shelter off campus until further notice.”

A spokesperson for JU told Action News that a staff member received an email today from someone threatening a shooting and bomb on campus.
Around 3 p.m. JU immediately implemented its emergency plan.
